This Fact Finder came about from the observation by COS member Cameron Lloyd that newcomers to the theatre organ world often came upon an invisible but impenetrable barrier of terminology. Cameron suggested that a simple glossary might overcome this barrier and I duly set to work to create a fairly unambitious document with the idea that it could be published in some form, maybe even on the web.

Discussion with Society colleagues led to the notion of providing pictures as well as words, and the usefulness of linking definitions and descriptions thereby leading the enquirer on a journey of discovery, almost into a 'virtual organ chamber'.
