'Novelty' stop introduced by Robert Hope-Jones.

Construction:
Metal; one-third length parallel resonators (narrower scale than Clarinet) with regulating slide at the top. Some later Compton stops had an adjustable bell at the top.

Tonality:
Buzzy stop with limited fundamental. Vowel tonality more oboe-like that Kinura due to different resonator shape. Can be used untremulated with minimal Tibia registrations for novelty effects, or in larger ensembles to provide additional harmonic colour. Some later Compton stops extremely loud.

W = Wurlitzer, C = Compton, Ch = Christie.
