Turned wooden supports for the rackboards, with either a thread at the top and bottom or a plain diameter for engaging with the top board of the windchest. Some organ builders fitted rack supports made out of wooden boards, colloquially referred to as 'top hats' due to their shape. These add rigidity to the assembly.
