A percussion stop consisting of a set of metal plates struck by felt covered hammers actuated by a pneumatic or electric mechanism. The tone is similar to the orchestral Celesta.

As the vibraphone became popularised through dance band music, so organ chrysoglotts became equipped with vibraphone rotors to give a passable imitation.
